Chief’s Message

The men and women that make up the Central County Fire Department (CCFD) are dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to our communities. Our personnel are some of the most talented individuals in the fire service today.

We have been fortunate enough to have the support of our elected officials, city managers and previous fire chiefs all of whom believe that investing in our personnel, both in education and industry related opportunities will ultimately save more lives and property than traditional methods. In addition to providing the day-to-day service to our local communities, CCFD personnel have supported efforts in other parts of the Bay Area, including the Oakland Hills Fire, Santana Row Fire, San Bruno pipeline incident and a large plane crash at San Francisco International Airport. Responses throughout the state have included the Malibu fires in 1985, 1993, 1996, 2003, 2007 and San Diego’s large fire in 2007. Due to the technical expertise that CCFD personnel have attained, Central County Fire Department has responded to the Northridge Earthquake in 1994, the Oklahoma bombing in 1995, the World Trade Center collapse in September of 2001, Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the BP Gulf Oil Spill in 2010.

In the event we have a major disaster within our own boundaries it is imperative that our community is prepared. With the efforts and close working relationship with Burlingame & Hillsborough Neighborhood Networks (BNN & HNN) we will ensure an outcome that could not have otherwise been realized. CCFD provides CERT courses to all three communities.  Please do your part by viewing our disaster preparedness page under the community outreach section.

Central County Fire Department will continue to be a leader in the fire service; combining department advancement with fiscal responsibility to the community we love and serve daily. The eight major divisions that make up Central County Fire Department are listed below and we would not be the department we are today if any one of these divisions were not working as hard as they are to fulfill our ultimate goal……to serve you.
